How we collect this
Each figure comes from a document published from September 2024 onward, read in full, with the sample and method noted. Government statistics, association surveys and platform data rank above blogs. We record rates for freelancers only. Employee wages, agency price lists, vendor estimates without a method and samples the research notes call too thin are left out.
Currencies are never converted, ranges stay ranges, and an average is labelled as an average. When two sources cover the same cell we show the stronger one first. The profession pages carry the same figures with more context, and the about page says who writes the site.

Frequently asked questions
Why do the figures use different currencies and units?
We show each figure exactly as the publisher printed it. Converting would add exchange-rate and timing choices the source never made, and a day rate cannot be turned into an hourly rate without guessing how many hours a day were billed.
Can I compare a median with an average or a range?
Not directly. A median, an average, a range and an advertised rate answer different questions, so each figure is labelled with its kind. Compare like with like, and treat a cross-country comparison as a rough guide.
What does an empty cell mean?
We have not found a reliable, recent source with a stated method for that profession and region. It does not mean rates are low or that the work does not exist there.
Why are some well-known figures missing?
We leave out employee wages, agency pricing, vendor estimates with no method and samples the research notes mark as too thin. Agency prices are not freelancer rates.
How recent are the sources?
Every source was published from September 2024 onward. The year next to each link is the publisher's year, and a live page without a date is listed with the year we read it.
Can I use these numbers to set my own rate?
Use them as one input. The rate calculator works from your costs, hours and target income, and the profession pages explain how to price that kind of work.
